Testing Methodology

Real Time Testing Videos

To this day, there isn't a single single manufacturer of EDF's that can provide the kind of data I have been able to generate on the Dynamax. I believe in comprehensive testing that can only be accomplished on a purpose built test stand to measure every single applicable variable. Without all of this information, it is difficult to judge how a fan will perform in real life.

Some manufacturers of high end EDF's show their fans running at full power for a few seconds. A buyer who is going to pay a premium price for these EDF's deserves to know exactly what the fan is capable of. It is absolutely impossible to do so unless the fan is run at full power for a reasonable amount of time to simulate actual flight conditions.

Rest assured that I have gone to great lengths to ensure that my customers are going to receive a product that has been proven on video. The following variable are measured during every single test run in REAL TIME:

  1. FAN RPM
  2. TOTAL VOLTAGE
  3. CURRENT
  4. POWER
  5. BATTERY CAPACITY USED
  6. CELL VOLTAGE OF AT LEAST ONE CELL (WEAKEST CELL)
  7. TOTAL TRUST PRODUCED
  8. ESC INTERNAL TEMP
  9. BATTERY TEMP
  10. MOTOR COIL TEMP AT TWO LOCATIONS AT THE REAR OF THE MOTOR USING K TYPE THERMOCOUPLES

While most of these variables are obviously necessary and easy to test, my videos provide them over the entire run of a fully charged battery pack. My test videos use 75% of the total battery capacity during each run to simulate a flight profile.

In addition, I also test and ensure that the motors being used with my fans are able to operate and maintain a healthy internal temperature from start to finish. When it comes to brushless in-runner EDF motors, internal motor temp should be maintained below 250 degrees (F) should. The only accurate way to measure this temp is to embed small thermocouples inside the motor in the area between the coils and the motor can. Doing so shows us the exact internal temperature at any given time during a test run.

Finally, all of my testing is done at MAXIMUM POWER for the entire duration of the test. Doing so leaves no doubt about the reliability of my systems. Regardless of the power level, my testing has ensured that each setup is capable of operating at full power for the entire duration of a flight. NO OTHER EDF ON THE MARKET CAN MAKE THIS CLAIM!
